Pippa, since this is spreading in one puppy to another, I would be concerned about conditions such as coccidia, giardia or other intestinal parasites, make sure you have a vet analyze a stool sample to get a proper diagnosis. If the home remedies are not working, there is definitely likely some underlying cause that needs addressed. The best.
Food intolerance/ lactose intolerance: When are bodies don't have the enzymes to break down certain nutrients present in food -- for example, lactose in dairy products is a common one - such intolerance can then effect in symptoms like belly pain, accompanied by bloating, gas, constipation, or diarrhea. About 4 years ago I had developed my gallbladder removed bc if stones and multiple atacks but have never experienced any other issues. I have been placed on ppi's but I have fresh issues of silent reflux. I'm trying a brand new low acid diet through the book dropping acid but I actually wish I knew why this all happened in the first place. One more thing I forgot to mention when We had the stomach spasm five months before I had just had my fourth son and was in pain for at some time. I took Motrin 800mg for approx 30 days continuesly. Any advice might be appreciated. Thanks!
Now you may be dealing with a stomach ache and diarrhea by now. This is definitely the body's way of expelling the infection, therefore it is not all bad. But it feels lousy and it takes a lot out of you (so to speak). Again, the hydration helps this a lot. But with even more diarrhea, and less belly ache, and no nausea, you realize you ready for Step Three.
